In the aftermath of this fraught and contentious election, I delved into watercolor to process my frustration and angst about where this country is headed. I ended up with one true message that stood out among the rest: Make America Kind Again.
I've made the design available in my store as tee shirts and other merchandise. 20% of profits for this design will go to the Southern Poverty Law Center who have been fighting hate and bigotry in the United States since 1971.
This is not a message of passiveness or inaction. Regardless of your political stance or views, this is an action-oriented theme that we can all abide by and share during these polarizing times. Please wear it proudly as a symbol of unity to yourself and your neighbor: We'll find our highest, best version of ourselves together. We'll respect all humans and protect equal rights for all. We will progress forward creating a better tapestry of diverse, inclusive humanity. This world has room for everyone and we will be kind.
I encourage you to share and wear this message and other visuals that promote positive, social change and acceptance of everyone. We're going to be okay. I stand tall for myself and for all of you. I will not sit quietly. I will mobilize in peaceful protest and positive conviction.
"If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other."
- Mother Teresa
