Power Unfurls in a Girl at School: Amanda Gorman x She's The First

8x10 Fine Art Print

Power unfurls in a girl at school
Like the first pages of a book unwritten,
She's a story waiting to ignite.
- Amanda Gorman

A collaboration between poet Amanda Gorman, illustrator Kimothy Joy, and the organization, She's The First for International Day of the Girl. Portion of proceeds go to She's The First.

Amanda Gorman is the first ever Youth Poet Laureate of the United States. Raised in Los Angeles, she studies at Harvard University and is Executive Director of One Pen One Page (onepenonepage.org).

She's the First fights gender inequality through education by supporting girls who will be the first in their families to graduate high school and by training students everywhere to be global citizens.

STF's signature program is the scholarship fund, which you are supporting with your purchase of this print. There are now more than 900 STF Scholars in 11 countries. Key to STF's success is partnering with locally-led organizations that are providing girls with mentorship and leadership opportunities, in addition to their classroom studies. More than 200 of these She's the First Scholars have already graduated!

Additionally, She's the First has a high school and college chapter program that spans 220+ campuses worldwide. In 2017, STF piloted its mobile-friendly Action Network to educate donors and advocates on the complex issues that hold girls and women back. This makes it possible for anyone, anywhere (and any age!) to join the conversation and take informed actions that build the movement. Try it out at action.shesthefirst.org.

STF is an award-winning organization that has raised upwards of $4 million to date and been recognized by Jenna Bush Hager on TODAY, Diane von Furstenberg, Chelsea Clinton, the United Nations, Fast Company, Forbes.com, Marie Claire, Glamour, and TIME, among others. It was founded in 2009 (originally as a YouTube video campaign) by Tammy Tibbetts and Christen Brandt.
